The mission of SPIE Student Chapter is to advance an interdisciplinary approach to the science and application of light and provide professional development opportunities for UCF students.

SPIE wants to hear from you!

The SPIE chapter is inviting you to come and share your opinions with Dr. Marc Himel.

Dr. Himel has been appointed to the SPIE Strategic Planning committee for 2013 and he is currently serving on the SPIE Membership committee.
In this open discussion, we would like to hear from all of you how SPIE can best meet our needs and make SPIE membership valuable.

Everybody is welcome and every opinion is appreciated. SPIE member or not doesn't matter. We want to hear from you!

This is a great chance for you to directly ask and give suggestions to the committee.
What you would like SPIE to do, to improve, what more should they provide to members, etc. Anything you want from SPIE, you can speak here.

  • You can find the following examples of what you would like to ask or suggest:
  • What do you think SPIE’s Core Values, Beliefs, and Principles are and should be?
  • What should be SPIE’s five to 10 year Goals?
  • What worries you about your optics career, the future of SPIE, the Optics & Photonics Profession and the business environment in which we operate?
  • How could we improve the SPIE conferences/exhibitions you attend?
  • Which SPIE conferences/exhibitions are most important to you and why?
  • What new technical area should SPIE service?
  • What new opportunities should we pursue?
